So here I am, a nice fresh new month of March and no broken parts on the 142?!!?!?

Buahahaha, yeah right. No sir, in fact last night while I was going to get some tasty steak with a friend I made the terrible mistake of trying to turn off my car. Why so silly you ask? Of course you do it every day, i used to too. But unfortuantely for me, last night when i tried to complete the task of turning off the car the key would not go to the steering wheel lock position so I could remove it, so I forced it some and said key unceremoniously broke off in the ignition switch.
HAPPY DAY!!!

So now I have a Volvo in a drive way with the business end of a key stuck in the ignition and not so much as a nub to try and grab with pliers. Anyone know how to take apart an ignition switch from a Volvo 142/ have a spare I could buy somehow?

Or does anyone know how to rig up the proper aftermarket switches to bypass the ignition completely (temporarily)??

Nevermind, I fixed it with some penetrating oil and a leatherman...

Weak... I was hoping for a much more elaborate MacGyver-style story, but I'm glad its fixed.

well I did manage to turn the car on without the key, which apparently only takes a flat head screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers.

Hmm, apparently 140's are extremely easy to bypass the key
